Nadine Schaefer joined St John’s Residence in June 1982 as a Caseworker in the Social Service Department.
Following completion of her Master’s in Social Work, she transitioned to Assistant Director of Social Services. In 1997, she assisted in the development and implementation of the newly funded Substance Services Program. Over the years, her responsibilities expanded to include HIV/STI Prevention, Family Planning, SYEP and most recently Admissions for the St John’s RTC.
After graduation from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven CT in 1979, Ms. Schaefer was employed by JCCA as Child Care worker and Team Manager until she joined St John’s. In addition to St John’s, Ms. Schaefer has worked as a Clinical Therapist with various agencies and has a private practice.
She received her MSW from Adelphi University, her CSW in 1986 and her LCSW-R in 2004. She completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Treatment of Interpersonal Trauma at Fordham University School of Social Work in 2004.
