STAFF RECOGNITION DAY

For many years, St. John’s has had a Staff Recognition Day. On that day, we take the opportunity to express our special appreciation to all of the employees who have logged so many dedicated years at St. John’s. It is done in multiples of fives. So, it recognizes those who are celebrating their fifth, tenth, fifteenth, twentieth, and on up years of service at St. John’s. We thought it would be appropriate to post for each year, the names and anniversary years of the employees celebrating an anniversary. Below you will find the individuals who will be especially honored at our Staff Recognition Day on December 15th, 2005.

The venue for the celebration is the Chapel Conference Room on the third floor of the Administration Building at St. John’s. The occasion begins with a wonderful meal prepared by Mr. Clinton Morman and his assistant, Ms. Jennie Roundtree. Then, after all have enjoyed the good “eats,” Brother Tom Trager, the Executive Director, recognizes each of the honorees and awards them a special gift.

Following that, there is a door prize raffle for 15 to 20 beautifully decorated baskets. Marcy Hennessey, from St. John’s Fiscal Department, uses her creative expertise to decorate the prize baskets with sundry goodies. The baskets have a theme, and all of the staff members at St. John’s are very anxious to take one home.

The occasion takes considerable organization. Ms. Hennessey also coordinates the work of a willing and generous committee that makes the occasion one of the highlights of the year.
