In an effort to raise funds, St. John’s operates a thrift store nearby. The Red Door, entirely staffed by volunteers, is located less than one mile from St. John’s at 99-04A Rockaway Beach Blvd. in Rockaway Beach, Queens, N.Y. On sale is everything from pots and pans to antiques. All inventory is donated to St. John’s (Red Door) and all profits go to the St. John’s program.

The Red Door was opened on December 16th, 1995. Since then, it has gained a reputation as one of the finest stores in the area. It offers excellent merchandise at reasonable prices. The Red Door also gives the local community people the opportunity to assist St. John’s in its work by volunteering at The Red Door store which is open each day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
